IFA VACANCIES

There are a number of Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) vacancies available in the UK Financial Services Industry. IFA vacancies tend to be available to a number of types of candidate.

A good percentage of IFA vacancies are filled via the recruitment of existing IFAs, although there are a number of other types of financial services candidates who may be appropriate.

The first type of candidate appropriate for IFA vacancies are tied/ multi-tied or whole of market financial advisers, who wish to progress their career in the IFA sector. Many tied financial advisors see IFA roles as a progression forward, because they feel the enhanced product availability will enable them to get involved in more esoteric areas of financial planning.

Often an IFA vacancy will offer a more High Net Worth (HNW) client base, although this is not always the case, as a numer of IFA vacancies are not exclusively HNW and many tied financial adviser opportunities offer introductions to some very wealthy clients requiring assistance.

The second type of candidate often appropriate for IFA vacancies are paraplanners. A paraplanner has a thorough understanding of the research, report writing and the whole back office support systems behind IFA vacancies. This means they have some useful experience right from the beginning. It is usually only those paraplanners who are both personable and who have already embarked upon a sales self-development program, that are considered for IFA vacancies.

Thirdly, IFA vacancies can be appropriate for sales managers looking to move back into an advisory capacity, or occasionally for those returning to the industry who can demonstrate a really good track record previosly as a financial advisor.

IFA vacancies can be offered by a number of different types of firm and even in a number of different (although related) industries. Accountants, solicitors, corporate/ personal lines insurance brokerages, actuarial practices, stockbrokerages, mortgage brokerages and even estate agents can have a vacancy for an independent financial advisor.

Any professional who would come into contact with a client who has had a significant change of financial circumstances will be able to offer IFA vacancies, given the correct recuitment advice and regulatory assistance. For example, a solicitor would come into contact with a client who has inherited a lump sum and may then require some independent financial advice. The solicitor would then refer the client through to an Independent Financial Advisor or IFA.

IFA vacancies offer a large array of salaries and bonus structures for the right individual. Basic salaries can range from £25,000 up to in excess of £100,000 and earnings are generally above £40,000, with many IFAs earning in excess of £70,000. The majority of IFA vacancies also offer attractive benefits pacakages which adds further value to the overall renumeration within an IFA role.
