IFA JOBS
If you are an experienced ifa not actively looking for a job but interested in hearing about something specific, unique or "one off" then why not contact us with a note of your specific vacancy requirements?
We are leading specialists in the IFA jobs sector and have been building careers and profitable IFA advisory teams for nearly a decade now. We would be pleased to hear from you, we have plenty of clients out there who have specific requirements but who do not wish us to advertise their vacancies for confidentiality reasons.
This list of ifa jobs is not all of the jobs we have available. We enjoy building IFA businesses and progressing careers far more than typing our jobs on to this web page. Despite that, this IFA jobs page is updated daily and is hot off the press as our team takes search assignments across the uk from clients.
Why not subscribe to our "rss ifa jobs feed" and keep up to date with our ifa jobs in your area or your speciality?
Read on for some advice about selecting which ifa jobs are better than others, we hope this helps you make the right decision and move for you, whether that is through ourselves at Foundation Resourcing or not.
The Importance of IFA Jobs with (HNW) Client Resources
Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) often advise High Net Worth (HNW) clients, HNW means those clients who are wealthier individuals or companies. Some of the best ifa jobs give access to HNW clients and these roles are particularly in demand from the ifa population.
HNW clients are usually available through two major channels, either existing clients or introduced clients.
Firstly, some ifa jobs may offer an existing warm client bank looking for continued advice. If the role involves predominantly servicing a client bank then we would advise you to consider the following points…
Why is nobody else in the firm profitably servicing this client bank?
Is it because it is not much of a client bank?
We tend to advise that in most cases you should consider the average case size of the other IFAs doing the job in the firm?
If the average case size is high then maybe we have a fast growth, high morale firm offering genuine ifa jobs. If everyone else in the firm is busy with their own clients then of course there could be some genuine IFA jobs on offer for someone to deal with the firms other HNW clients
If the case size is poor then you have to question why the other IFAs in the business have not gravitated towards making it their job to service this client base?
Secondly, professionally introduced business is when an IFA receives a stream of opportunities through a number of introducers (people in a position to spot clients who may benefit from financial advice) such as accountants, solicitors, banking professionals, corporate insurance professionals, actuaries or stockbrokers.
When our clients give us ifa jobs which require the ifa to bring their own clients, IFAs are fully aware of the lack of existing client opportunity provided by the employer (we are very transparent in this area).
The Importance of looking at growth in firms offering IFA jobs
In these times in the profession we would advise you to look at your future firms track record of growth. A solid and sustainable track record of growth is absolutely vital in your next ifa job for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the faster an ifa firm grows then the put simply, the quicker your career can progress.
For example, a firm growing at 10% year on year will require 10% more managerial and supervisory staff, you will have the first opportunity at securing these superior internal promotion prospects.
Secondly and even more importantly, the faster a firm is growing then the less likely they are to make redundancies. A viable business model built around key people or key relationships is even more vital in these turbulent times in the ifa profession.
Thirdly, an ifa firm growing will typically pay better salaries and have better morale, which is always nice!
IFA Jobs and their Product Range
Some IFA jobs give the adviser the option of choosing products from a panel. The best IFA jobs give the adviser a far greater product range, this can enable the IFA to move into more esoteric areas of Financial Planning. Inheritance Tax (IHT) advice, Offshore Investments, Long Term Care and Equity Release.
Gaining specialist and esoteric knowledge of certain types of clients or certain growth areas can greatly assist in your career potential and earnings.
Qualifications for IFA jobs
An Independent Financial Adviser will often be qualified above and beyond the initial FPC qualification and will either be a Chartered Financial Planner, or have studied part of the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC). An IFA job with a full training and development program to push the IFA forward on the qualifications front is mandatory for those IFAs wishing to secure themselves a long term future advising in the profession.
